Hostel Rules & Regulations

Official rules and code of conduct for all residents as per the hostel policy

1. Admission & General Rules

  • Submit application form with 1 passport photo, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, and College/Company ID card to Warden for accommodation.
  • Read and understand the rules before signing the application form. A copy is attached to the admission form.
  • Residents staying in the hostel do so at their own risk, liability, and consequences.
  • Hostel authorities will not be responsible for any loss of money, jewelry, or personal belongings of any student. Do not keep costly items in room.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against students violating Hostel Rules and Regulations.

2. Hostel Fees & Payments

  • Hostel fees and food charges must be paid in advance.
  • Monthly hostel charges must be paid by the 5th of every month.
  • The contract is made for one year. Residents must pay hostel fees along with food expenses for 3 months in advance at the time of admission.
  • To vacate the hostel, residents must inform the management in writing.
  • During the 3 months' notice period, the advance payments made by the resident will be adjusted. If vacating without notice, the advance amount will be forfeited.

3. Room Care, Fixtures & Cleanliness

  • Do NOT bring any extra furniture or other fixtures into the rooms.
  • All furniture and fixtures in the rooms must be cared for properly. Residents must pay double the original cost of any missing item.
  • Residents must pay twice the repair charges for items willfully damaged or damaged due to misuse or unfair wear and tear.
  • Do NOT interchange any furniture or fixtures from one room/location to another. Violators face penal recovery and expulsion.
  • No electric appliances are permitted in the rooms. Warden has the right to confiscate unauthorized gadgets.
  • Switch off lights and fans without fail when leaving the room. Table lamps can be used for study after 12:30 AM.
  • Cleanliness: Keep rooms, verandahs, and surrounding areas clean. Do not throw rubbish anywhere except in dustbins. No cooked food in rooms.
  • Do not dry wet clothes on furniture or in corridors/balconies. The Rector has the right to confiscate clothes hung in balconies.
  • Do not drive pegs or nails into walls, or stick posters on walls, windows, and doors.

4. Curfew, Night Outs & Conduct

  • Residents must be back in the hostel on or before 11:00 PM every day. Residents returning from night out must report after 7:00 AM.
  • Night out is not allowed without a substantial academic reason. Written request must be submitted to the warden at least 1 day in advance.
  • Strict silence must be observed from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Music or talking must NOT be audible outside rooms. Recreational facilities off by 10:30 PM.
  • Warden provides room keys. Residents shall NOT use other locks/keys. Warden has discretion to inspect any room at any time.
  • Absolutely no gambling, firearms, ammunition, explosives, or inflammable goods are allowed on the premises.
  • No alcohol, drugs, or smoking allowed in the rooms or premises (applies to visitors too). Violation results in strict disciplinary action/rustication.
  • Treat hostel and housekeeping staff with courtesy. Staff must not be utilized for private personal work. No cash/kind tips allowed.

5. Mess Policy, Visitors & Pets

  • Mess Timings: Breakfast (7:30 AM – 9:30 AM), Lunch (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM), Dinner (7:30 PM – 9:30 PM). Must be strictly followed.
  • No food is allowed to be taken into the rooms. Do not waste food.
  • Parents/Guardians should cooperate with authorities and be available on call. Visitors are not allowed in rooms.
  • Visitors/Parents are allowed ONLY in the lobby between 9:00–11:00 AM & 6:00–8:00 PM (working days) or 11:00 AM–5:00 PM (Sundays/holidays).
  • Birthday celebrations require prior written permission from the Warden, held in common areas only (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM). No outside guests.
  • No pets of any kind (fish, cats, dogs, etc.) are allowed. Desist from feeding or petting stray dogs inside premises.
